„Důležité je, jak lidé ke zbraním přistupují. Je potřeba, aby si uvědomili, že když už mají zbraň, musí ji efektivně ovládat, aby s tou zbraní eventuálně mohli zasáhnout v nějaké krizové situaci,“ podotknul Lumír Němec v pořadu Události, komentáře.

„Srovnal bych to s řidičákem. Když si ho uděláte, naučíte se, jak auto rozjedete, zastavíte, jak s ním jedete někde v klidovém režimu. Nepřipravíte se na to, jak budete reagovat, když se dostanete do sněhové vánice nebo když dostanete smyk. Na to, abyste byl kvalitní a zodpovědný řidič a byl jste si jistý, že zvládnete i tuhle situaci, musíte na sobě dál pracovat,“ podotknul.

Stejně tak je to podle něj se zbraní. Když si ji člověk pořídí a složí zkoušky, tak ji umí bezpečně ovládat. Použití v nějaké krizové situaci ale vyžaduje podle něj nějaký další trénink. „Člověk by měl být už tak zodpovědný, že by měl vědět, že když s tou zbraní vystřelí pět ran za rok, tak když se dostane do krizové stresové situace, tak ji asi těžko zvládne,“ dodal.

Jako povinnost by to nestavěl, i když nějaký systém na způsob branné výchovy na školách by podle něj nebyl špatný. „Mám srovnání generace, jak to bylo před třiceti lety a dnes. Generace jde dolů,“ zmínil.
